Multichannel

Posted on 9th March 2012

Despite Tim Cook, Apple CEO, declaring that we live in a post-PC world Gartner Research Director Ranjit Atwal predicts that 368 million PC units will be sold in 2012, an increase of 4.4 per cent from 2011. By his calculations, the market will grow to 400 million units in 2013.

Apple sold 40.57 million iPads in the year ending 31 December 2011. Add to this Android tablet sales and smartphone sales and it is clear we live in a multichannel world where users own multiple devices and devices will co-exist rather than replace each other.

It is important images are optimised appropriately for these channels to ensure sales are maximised.
